Marketing Superstar

The Company:

OpenDNS is a profitable startup growing extremely quickly. We've been building revolutionary services that are improving the way people access and use the Internet. We have almost 4 million users world wide, including over 10,000 schools! The Position:

What's a marketing superstar? This person is a standout among his/her peers, has the tactical know-how to do his/her job well already and is looking to move into a more strategic marketing role while still executing like crazy. This is a role that will grow in responsibility and scope as the company grows.

We want someone who has tactical marketing experience and is ready to add to that by developing their own marketing programs geared at engaging our audience and converting it into customers. We're fortunate to have a great product and we have an opportunity to create a huge amount of awareness in the marketplace. Word-of-mouth and evangelists within our user community are the current source of growth, which have driven us to profitability. We want to 10x that quickly, and then 10x it again. Rinse, repeat.

The Requirements:

  • BA/BS in any field.
  • 2+ years marketing experience with a successful consumer and SMB focused Internet company.
  • Experience working in a startup environment.
  • Ability to lead and self-manage projects and tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop internal product marketing programs and guide creative teams on specific projects.
  • Conceive and execute on focused customer acquisition programs.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to develop actionable customer insights that drive product development and marketing strategies.
  • Work with dedicated engineers to build the analytics tools required to provide the insights and metrics for a marketing dashboard to measure and drive growth opportunities.

Bonus Points:

  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Ad Models, Analytics Tracking, CRM software, etc.
  • Background in Computer Science or Networking.
  • Great mentoring from organizations with fantastic marketing programs.
